Brave would be driving that car in Philly.
Or New York.
Or Miami
Or Oakland.
Oh, hell - anywhere more than 80 miles from Boston.

Such as a city at the other end of I-90 that is home to a team that the Patriots beat in heartbreaking fashion in a Super Bowl within the last five years?
Also...Oakland? Why? Outside Boston, I’ve never seen more Patriots merch proudly worn by bandwagon fuckheads than in the Bay Area. In fact, I was in Oakland for Thanksgiving, a few days after the Patriots stomped the Raiders in Mexico City, and I definitely saw Patriots gear and bumper stickers and whatnot.

I’m joking - literally everyone outside of Boston hates the Pats. I’m a freaking Bears fan, we never even play New England, and I hate them.
As far as Oakland goes, they still haven’t forgotten the Tuck Rule Game.

I’d be more worried about getting door dings in these tight spots than vandalism because of the vanity plate.

Great call on the Tuck Rule game, I forgot that was the Raiders.

Me too. Although it’s actually in an area of the parking garage primarily used by a detail business, so once the owner dropped it off it’s in the (presumably safe) hands of the nice couple that runs it.

The WORST “fans” in the world are people who have zero connection to a city, but adopt the Yankees/Patriots/Lakers as their favorite team just because they’re good. I fucking hate these people. Just a few weeks ago, I was watching the Saints/Vikes game at the gym for a bit, and a trainer came up to another woman who was watching (and clearly a Vikes fan), and he was raving about how he’s a huge Pats fan, and how Brady is the GOAT, yada yada yada. In the Chicago suburbs. I wanted to punch him.

I know someone who is a Yankees/Patriots fan, which is pretty insufferable but at least he comes by it honestly: he grew up in Boston but his dad is a lifelong Yankees fan from Long Island.
I also know a Patriots fan from Idaho, and a Steelers fan from Orange County (who is otherwise a Lakers/Dodgers fan, fair enough). Both are fucking inexcusable.

But that’s just the league sports marketing machine all over the country, isn’t it? Being a “fan” of something whose only connection to a city is the fact that it trains its players there and pays taxes there.

Ha true - except for the ‘pays taxes’ part, I think. I’m old, and grew up rooting for a lot of bad teams (Chicago), so it feels like cheating to jump on a bandwagon to me.

The first guy I understand - - and he’s probably been through lean times rooting for New England, too.
The 2nd guy? Nope.
